Music for 18 Musicians (CD)

Composed in 1976, Music for 18 Musicians has become a cornerstone of 20th century repertoire in general and percussion music in particular, and has been cited as the seed that ultimately spawned ambient trance music created by admiring practitioners like Orbital, Aphex Twin and the Orb. Originally available only as a volume in Steve Reich’s 1997 10-CD boxed set, this new digital recording of the composer’s signature opus is now available as a single-disc release.
