In 1976, Jermaine was married to Berry Gordy’s daughter and his brothers left Motown for Epic. But Jermaine stayed loyal to Berry (see: marriage) and put out this overlooked soul dance & romance gem.
He got a #19 R&B chart hit with the disco-licious “Let’s Be Young Tonight,” and another single should have been “Faithful,” infectious soul with vocal assist from a ferocious Thelma Houston.
A delightful album in every way but weirdly unavailable in any legal digital form which keeps it woefully overlooked in the soul cannon. Luckily we have a couple of vinyl copies for you to check out.
